Expoflamenco Jerez offers master classes for August and September

As an important part of the summer training at our headquarters in Jerez, we are inviting you to participate in a series of master classes with some artists who will put all their knowledge at the service of the international flamenco community. Due to the dates coinciding with the Fiesta de la Bulería, some master classes will be oriented towards the study of this style and its variants.

Here is a brief overview of the master classes scheduled for the months of August and September of the 2023 season:

August 16 and 17, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. / Flamenco guitar with Javier Patino . Study of the Jerez bulería from above and from above. The Cadiz bulería in major keys and we will cover the bulería in other keys and tunings.

August 22 and 23, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. / Flamenco singing and dancing bulerías with Macarena de Jerez. Study of the different ways of marking the bulerías of Jerez both in singing and dancing.

August 24th and 25th, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. / Electric bass as a flamenco instrument classes with Ricardo Piñero . Study of tangos, rumbas and bulerías. We will cover the main concepts for accompanying: rhythmic patterns, harmony, sound, technique and falsetas.

August 28 and 29; from 11:00 to 12:30 / Flamenco dancing with 'El Torombo'. The bulería dance por soleá.

August 30th and 31st, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. / Flamenco singing with Naike Ponce . Study of cante por alegrías and cantiñas.

September 4, 5 and 6, from 11:00 to 12:00 / The rhythm of tangos and bulerías with David Morán 'El Gamba de Jerez'. Rhythms and variations, accents, endings, off-beats, jaleos, listening to the singing. A fun way to understand the language of Flamenco, in a relaxed atmosphere that encourages communication.

September 12 and 13, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. / Flamenco tango singing course with Aroa Cala. Study of the different types of flamenco tango singing. Time signature, structures and melodies.

September 19 and 20, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. / Flamenco guitar course with Juan Diego Mateos . Study of the composition of his latest album, Bulería callejera . Ends and falsetas that can be used to accompany the singing.

September 25 and 26, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. / Flamenco box course with Carlos Merino . Basic concepts of flamenco box accompaniment.

Grades

• All master classes will be held at our headquarters in the Los Ramos Building on Calle Diego Fernández Herrera s/n in Jerez and can be accessed by registering at https://expoflamenco.shop/ and calling +34 673 651 042.
• The full price of each of them is 60 euros, taxes included.
• Classes will be both in-person and online.
• A minimum of 8 students must be enrolled for each course. If this number is not reached in the previous days, the organization reserves the right to postpone or cancel the course. It also reserves the right to make changes to the program, which will be communicated with sufficient notice.
