Postponement to Saturday, March 16 of our Elf Route through historic Xerez

Due to the forecast of strong winds and rain (which is welcome, by the way) we have decided to postpone our route to next Saturday, March 16, at the same time: 11.30 in the morning. People who made their reservation can exchange it for the new date or ask for a refund.

'Ruta del duende' in Jerez has been announced for next March 16, 2024

Among its many activities, Espacio Expoflamenco has organised a new cultural route to get to know the city where it is based. It is a guided walk between the flamenco districts of Santiago and San Miguel through the heart of old Xerez. Places are limited, so don't miss out on yours.

The name of the route responds to the need to bring together all the elements that make up the route itself. Because flamenco will be very present but also, as we pass by, we will find the unique monument, the legend or the winery. There will be no shortage of local wines along the way and on the way back, in harmony with the surroundings. The spirit of Jerez and sherry, in short.

  • When: Saturday, March 16, 2024
  • Time: 11:30 a.m.
  • Home: Bust of Fernando Terremoto in Plaza de Santiago
  • Final: Expoflamenco Space in Diego Fernandez Herrera St., Los Ramos Building
  • Duration: approximately 2 hours
  • Price: €12 online advance sale - €15 day of event (per participant)
  • Includes 2 sherry wine glasses
  • Directed by: José María Castaño / Spanish language (possibility of interpreter)

The route is a journey through the streets, monuments, stories and legends of flamenco in our city, where participants can learn more about this intangible heritage of the city. Everything starts in the Santiago neighbourhood, participants watch the evening fall while they discover the history of the cobbled streets, the most traditional houses, or some of the emblematic places of Jerez such as the church of Santiago, the old market square, or the nooks and crannies of the San Miguel neighbourhood.

Added to all this are the wines from the Marco region, which become the protagonists of the route. Visitors can enjoy a glass of wine in a traditional place in the city, while learning about the history of the city and its most genuine artistic expression, flamenco, thanks to the studious and meticulous work of Castaño.
