Identity FLAMENCO songs
Time groups criteria and structures in relation to the complex world of flamenco music. It has been an arduous and beautiful task at the same time, to investigate an art with almost three centuries of living records.
The authors, we have wanted to capture and identify in a reasonable number of 200 figures of yesterday and today of flamenco singing and; record the very difficult and uncertain future that this art holds for us.
Nothing more remains than to thank all the teachers of this exciting world, because they marked the way forward.
Identity Flamenco dances
Baile is no longer the younger brother of flamenco.
Thousands of academies spread the art of La Macarrona and Mario Maya all over the planet. But this was not always so. Almost three centuries ago, flamenco in its early days was singing in fields, forges and private gatherings. Soon the guitar will be the faithful companion in primitive cafes, which were not even "singers" yet; and almost a century later, at the beginning of the 19th century, the oil lamp dance won its place to form the magical flamenco trinity.
The peoples have always danced their sorrows and joys.
Andalusia will be the cradle of it in a second stage, the Golden Age of Flamenco (1860-1920), which will enjoy as artists and styles (bolero school and dance nuances) the widest range. nor in a third moment (Opera Flamenca, 1920-1955) where everything will be staged; nor in the later one, despite having the greatest geniuses of this art.
In the middle of the 21st century, there are bad times for dancing. Almost everything is confusion and tedium. The flamenco dance that appears in this work is the one that never ceased to be a philosophy of life.
Not something that entertains and draws easy applause. It hurts to see that he has distanced himself from the flamenco essence, from believing and feeling first. I hope that among all that great tide that is interested in so much beauty, the quality that all these teachers have bequeathed to us will emerge.
Identity Flamenco Guitars
The flamenco guitar, inseparable and faithful travel companion; it is a universal heritage of music and a star protagonist of our flamenco world. We want to honor the extensive and enriching history of the sonanta, which with its presence has led flamenco to become a recognizable and unique piece of music.
The will of the authors has been to highlight the 200 great masters of flamenco guitar under a single criterion: having a relevant proven flamenco career. Limiting an unlimited world of artists is valued very positively, since the immense guitar garden contrasts with the uncertain morass in which cante is sunk today.
It only remains to thank those masters of the guitar forms of yesterday and today, since they marked the way forward.
