Within the framework of the activities scheduled to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Fiesta de la Vendimia de Jerez in 2023, the Espacio Expoflamenco is joining in with the proposal of a flamenco route through La Plazuela where wine culture must not be missing.
A commented guide to the historic gypsy and flamenco enclave located within the San Miguel neighborhood. Led by José María Castaño, author of the book 'De Jerez y sus cantes', we tour in the cool of the evening, the most emblematic places that have led this center to immortality in art.
At all points of interest we will stop to hear biographies and details of the most characteristic songs of the area. At the end of the event, at our headquarters at the Espacio Expoflamenco we will hold a session on Flamenco Culture & Sherry with some Jerez wines in hand and the art of La Plazuela as the protagonist. There will be audiovisual examples along with the tasting of a fino, amontillado and oloroso sherry.
Starting point of the route: Saturday 16th September, 8.00 pm . Plaza del Arenal, corner of San Miguel street.
Duration of the route: Approximately one and a half hours.
Arrival point: Espacio Expoflamenco Jerez. Los Ramos building on Diego Fernández Herrera street s/n. There will be a session of Flamenco Culture & Sherry with tasting of three wines and subsequent discussion .
The activity is directed by: José María Castaño, flamencologist and Approved Trainer of Jerez – Xêréz – Sherry Wines.
