The drawings and paintings of P atricio Hidalgo ( Ibiza , 1979) , a versatile and multidisciplinary creator, are avant-garde and popular, abstract and figurative, but they always seek to capture the essence of flamenco art and the character of flamenco artists, who have ended up describing it as from 'painter'.
The son of an amateur guitarist, Hidalgo lives between Seville and La Puebla de Cazalla (Seville), a town that is a stronghold of the deepest flamenco, and he himself wanted to be a dancer and guitarist -his teacher, in Morón de la Frontera (Seville) was Paco del Gastor- until life put him in the dilemma of choosing between "the guitar or the brushes".
