Sinopsis
En Odisea del espacio de Carlos Lencero, se reúnen seis cuentos flamencos, veintirés
artículos, seis libretos de CDs, una entrevista, un libro de fandangos y treinta poemas sobre
artistas flamencos.Todos hablan de flamenco de una forma directa y personal.
Lencero conoció de primera mano a una gran diversidad de artistas flamencos. Primero en la
Plaza Alta de Badajoz, en donde escuchó a las principales figuras: Porrina, el Musiquina, la
Marelu o Juan Salazar. En Jerez, donde vivió una temporada en 1974, escuchó a Terremoto, el
Chocolate, Manuel Agujeta, de ellos escribe retratos muy sinceros, nos deja un reflejo
personal de estos artistas y sus maneras de interpretar los palos más jondos. Tras pasar unos
años en Marruecos se instala en Sevilla, donde vivirá la mayor parte de su vida artística. Hace
amistad con la familia Amador y Ricardo Pachón, con los que mantendrá una amistad de por
vida. Colabora con Ricardo en la serie El Ángel y escribe letras para Pata Negra, Diego
Carrasco, Remedios Amaya, Camarón, la Macanita... Son artistas que Lencero conoce de
manera personal, sabiendo adaptar perfectamente la letra a la personalidad del artista.
También colabora con la revista Alma100 y La Flamenca, cuyos textos encontrarán en estas
páginas. Lencero era un escritor que sabía vivir el momento y transportarlo al papel de forma
visceral, y eso se nota. En los cuentos se puede ver el reflejo de escritores como Bukowski o
Ferdinand Céline, a los que admiraba tremendamente. Lencero supo hacer de sus influencias
un estilo personal, dionisíaco, inmediato. Estas páginas son una buena muestra de entender el
flamenco como forma de vida, una manera de estar en el mundo.
