Synopsis
The popular song known as malagueña was born at the end of the 18th century as an evolution of the fandango. Since its inception, it has been linked to dance, but as it slowly adapted as a flamenco style, it gradually abandoned the beat in favor of the vocal brilliance of the performers.
Over the years, the malagueña branched out into a vast number of styles. Only voices like that of Don Antonio Chacón, among others, consolidated it.
